Day 5/6: Thursday and Friday

Thursday was still cold and snowy.  We spent the day inside.  I think Ian had had his fill of snow and cold.  We made some ham pockets for lunch.  The kids really like making things together.  Today also Sadie won on the movie front and we watched the 3rd Harry Potter movie.  The 2 of them have become obsessed with the books since Ian got them for his birthday last year.

Friday we finally got above freezing and the sun came out!  It was sooo nice.  We spent most of the day cleaning the house and sweeping up all the wet mudding shoe prints.  Every night when we would have a fire, Ian would beg to roast marshmallows.  Well his Dad made his dream come true tonight.  He loved it.  It looks like we will begin thawing out this weekend.  So many people still don't have power and now have frozen bursting pipes.  We have been so blessed and protected during this snowy week.

 

Day 4: Wednesday

It is still snowing and cold outside.  We got some more snow overnight.  I think we have a good maybe 5 inches of snow out, maybe more.  Today we made mini pizzas for a fun lunch.  The kids played outside again.  This time they tried to slide on an innertube.  Well until it ripped on the garden edging.  Ian has been a huge fan of the snow.  Sadie is for about 5 min until she gets cold.  Today we also had internet back and we watched "Swiss Family Robinson." It was a family favorite when I was a kid.  Ian had been wanting to watch it but Sadie opposed it.  By the end of the movie though she loved it.  More games were played and we snuggled by the warm fire.
